The 2017 CLB Academy Spelling Bee Competition which took place November/ December 2017 in Lagos, Nigeria, featured over 75 schools and more than 400 participants from schools in Lagos and its environs. The keenly contested competition produced four winners from top schools in Lagos, with Serenaba Clarine Serena – Dokubo from Oxbridge Tutorial College winning the Sixth Form Category, Olabisi Bello from Dansol High School winning the Senior Secondary School Category, Eshiotse Itemuagbor from Rainbow College winning the Junior Secondary School Category and Mosopeoluwa Ayeni from Corona School, Ikoyi winning the Primary School Category.

The winners were presented with Cash Prizes by the organisers of the Competition and Gift Vouchers from School Kits and Laterna Bookshop respectively on Thursday, February 15 and Friday, February 16, 2018. Scholarships valued at N500,000.00 (Five Hundred Thousand Naira) each to study at Centre for Law and Business for University of London Degrees were also awarded winners of the Senior Secondary School and Sixth Form Categories.

At the presentations, the CEO of Qtaby Event: Ms. Victoria Nkong who led the Team to the schools applauded the winners and encouraged other students to pursue academic excellence and create healthy competition amongst themselves. The CEO of Centre for Law and Business, Mr. Dapo Oyewumi, who was represented by Ms. Aboyowa Wilkie promised that the 2018 edition of the competition would be even better and more rewarding for all stakeholders. Entries for the 2018 edition which are scheduled between October 6 and November 17, 2018 (Saturdays only) opens on Thursday, March 1, 2018. Registration Fee is N5,000 per child.
